WOW Jubilee

will be the highlight of The W:OW Project – celebrating 15 years “artvideoKOELN”, 15 years “CologneOFF International Festival Network”, 20 years “The New Museum of Networked Art”, 20 years “JavaMuseum – Forum for Internet Technology in Contemporary Art”, 20 years “A Virtual Memorial Foundation”, 20 years “Agricola de Cologne” – and many other relevant anniversaries – among them 75 years End of World War II (1945).
NewMediaFest 2020 – will be the event structure in physical & virtual space – starting in December 2019 – running until 31 December 2020.

WOW Jubilee is consisting of two components the physical manifestations in collaboration with network partner all over the world, presenting a selection from the media art content collected @ The New Museum of Networked Art, and as a second component – WOW retro – a retrospective on 20 year networked art in virtual space – http://retro.newmediafest.org

WOW Jubilee will start as a symbolical act already in December 2019 in Africa, where already the human species was starting to conquer the world, so that the Jubilee year can start on 1 January 2020.
During 2020, manifestations will take place at numerous venues, each month in another country, including, among others, Ethiopia (Addis Ababa), Turkey, Russia (Moscow), Ukraine (Kiev, Kharkiv), Italy, Greece (Athens, Kalamata), Germany (Cologne, Berlin), France, Peru (Cusco), Brasil (Belo Horizonte), Latvia (Riga), India (Kolkata), Cambodia (Phnom Penh), USA (Los Angeles)
